Collection: Þórdís Erla Zoëga

Thordis Erla Zoega (b.1988) is a visual artist based in Reykjavík, Iceland.

She received her BFA degree from the Audio Visual department of The Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam,Netherlands in 2012 and has since exhibited widely in Iceland and abroad, i.e. Stockholm, Berlin, Basel, Amsterdam and more.
In Iceland she has made works for the Reykjavík Art Festival, Gerðarsafn, Icelandic Dance Company and exhibited in the Reykjavík Art Museum.
In her works she deals mainly with intimacy, symmetry and balance.

Touching Points are inspired by Gerður Helgadóttir´s wiresculptures. Þórdís and Gerður share a confidence in trying out different media in their works. Gerður made several woven rugs in her lifetime and who knows in which direction she would have taken her work, had she had a longer career.
